Harley's 1st Haircut

While my mom was visiting we took Harley to the BEAUTY SHOP!  She was excellent while they cut her hair just as long as she was sitting on my lap and sucking on a lollipop.

Christmas 2011

We had a great Christmas! Everyone got spoiled and everyone was happy with their gifts. Everything fit  and we almost had enough batteries for all of the toys.  It was especially nice having church on Christmas morning. It was a good reminder of what the day is really about!  The kids, exhausted from the night before, actually slept until about 6:30 AM, before running down the stairs to see if they had been naughty or nice.
Atley got a motorized scooter, remote controlled helicopter, a Nerf bazooka, Nintendo 3DS with lots of games, clothes, a Muppet, stuffed animals, movies, and way too much candy!

Nash got a redskins uniform, CARS 2 Track, Angry Birds Game and toys, a Muppet, Nerf Bazooka, Nintendo 3DS with games, clothes, stuffed animals, movies, and way way too much candy!

Harley got a cookie monster, vacuum, laptop, cow to ride, Belle doll, shoes, doll house,  dresses, dresses, dresses, dresses, and never enough candy!

Although the helicopter has been stuck in the tree and lost in the neighbors yard, everything is still working 2 days after Christmas, which in my opinion is a Christmas Miracle!  We learned that next year we will only buy Harley's presents at the dollar store because her favorite gift of all was a little green rubber bear that was purchased there. She also likes Cookie Monster but refuses to feed him cookies.  I think she is worried about his health.

Christmas Eve...

was a big party at our house with lots of food and some really great friends.  Our friend Natalie brought her guitar and we sang carols and acted out the 12 days of Christmas.  Atley performed Silent Night on the piano at the beginning of our nativity program where he played Joseph, Nash a shepherd, and Harely a naughty little sheep.  The kids got into the whole dressing up thing and Harley emerged from the basement as a mechanic/witch at one point.  It was a great time and we feel truly blessed to have such great friends around us.

Eventually Harley kicked baby Jesus out of the manger and took a little rest herself!

Knuffle Bunny

We went to the Kennedy Center on the 23rd to see a musical production of Mo Willem's book Knuffle Bunny!

We love this book at our house and the musical was adorable, so was watching the kids explore the Kennedy Center.

Christmas Trains!

We got back from Williamsburg just in time to join Nash's preschool group on a trip to the train exhibit at the National Botanical Gardens. The train exhibit is only there at Christmas time and we go every year.  It is pretty magical. It was especially fun watching Harley this year. She loves pretending she is a big girl and she definitely knows that she is a female the way she gravitates towards other little girls!

Part 3-Busch Gardens

Most of Busch Gardens is closed down during the winter months, but throughout the Christmas season they open in late afternoon for what is called Christmas Town.  There are some rides open, Christmas shows, including Harley's favorite Sesame Street Christmas, millions of beautiful lights, games, and food.  I think I earned back some points after the Colonial Williamsburg disaster when we took the kids to Christmas town.
